Variety trials

The process of variety development takes many years, from the initial cross to the marketing of a new variety performance.

The repeated trials are the final step of the process and are conducted on farms dedicated to the production of potato consumption in order to test varieties compared to existing references and assess their ability to produce crops that meet the specifications of our clients.

These tests are designed to be a detailed statistical review, involve three replicated plots and play a vital role in our decision to retain or not a variety. If there is no interest in performance, or if the crop is not up to specification, we can not recommend this variety to our producers and our customers.

The test program takes the form of variety trials. We incorporate our own breeding material, as well as material handpicked from other European breeders with whom we have close relationships and trust.
