SHEPODY GROWERS - Blight Alert

<b>Blight Alert<b>



In general the Cornish crops of Shepody look well, with good haulm and tuber growth being recorded on all sites. However blight has been found in the county, therefore no chances can be taken on blight control especially as the weather is now regularly generating Smith periods.



Previous action plans advised spray intervals of 7 days. It is now time to reduce these intervals to a maximum of 5 -7 days or indeed less depending on the product being used and whether any blight does infect the crop or even crops nearby.



The spray programme should alternate different products to exploit different modes of action and to keep within label and hence legal requirements.



The products of choice are:



Curzate M68

Ranman

Tanos

Invader



Shirlan would be less suitable at this stage of the growth cycle.
